We found this place about 5 miles off the PA turnpike and had a great lunch! Nothing complex about the menu, but that didn't matter - the chicken was cooked perfectly and the coating was very light and delicious. The selection of sides was great at tasted great. The restaurant felt like I was in someone's home - the atmosphere was also good. Highly recommend to locals and travelers alike. read less

Amazing fried chicken. We asked for an all dark meat family dinner...oh man...freshly cooked...and never been sitting under the hot lamp. Very attentive host. Potato salad and coleslaw both were great...specially the house special potato salad.
The walls were covered in blues memorabilia..and the one tv was playing blues music.
The decor was very homely and inviting...a job well done. We were passing through town on our way to Chicago and I must say this place could not be beaten by anything short of the Nashville hot fried chicken!! read less

I've always got a hankering for good fried chicken and this wasn't a disappointment. The chicken was fresh and juicy, hot, and well seasoned. The corn muffin was delicious but a little dry. Wished there was some butter/honey provided. We didn't ask so perhaps they had some and we could have gotten some. The mac and cheese and fries weren't much to speak of, but the BBQ beans were phenomenal! They had a real nice smoky flavor and nice bits of BBQ meats.
Price was more than fair and I'd love to come back and support this nice place. read less

I gave the chicken waffle bites a try on my first visit. Was not disappointed. Quit going to KFC and come support this local business. The cornbread muffins taste homemade. Throw some butter on it and it's perfect. The mac and cheese is fantastic is mildly addicting. The staff is super friendly and they really appreciate it when you call ahead so your chicken gets the right amount of time to cook without any rush. Stop by and check them out. read less

And the side dishes?!?! Oh my word the potato salad is to die for and I loved the super thick and chunky chicken gravy that came with the mashed potatoes. The collard greens were delish and so were the green beans. And the corn muffins were fantastic.
And the chicken and waffle bites were delicious. Just a little hint of maple syrup.
This man know his way around the kitchen and man alive does it show. Not to mention fantastic service with a smile!Prices are SUPER reasonable. We absolutely, positively will return!!!!

Chicken was seasoned beautifully, crisp, moist and delicious. My family enjoyed the Mac and cheese, collard greens, and corn bread.

EVERYTHING was wonderful, including the staff (Dawn, Finn and the owner, Art). The chicken is the best! Even the white meat was moist (and if you cook, you know that's a hard thing to accomplish!). All 5 sides we had were fresh and homemade. We had 2 deserts- the sweet potato pie and the Hummingbird pie- homemade and delicious. My only wish is that it was closer. BEAVER FALLS -- Mississippi Chicken Shack owner William “Art” Coleman doesn’t know much about the business benefits of Facebook or the internet. His soul music-themed restaurant on Seventh Avenue in Beaver Falls has relied instead on filling a gap in the marketplace and word-of-mouth advertising. Coleman, a Rochester resident and a retired caseworker for the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, never had a dream of opening his own restaurant. The Chicken Shack’s general manager, Finis Lawson, also known as “The Chicken Man,” and cook Dorothea Barnes brought up the idea to their friend Coleman. . . .
